Every year thousands of people become US citizens after passing a basic test about the ins and outs of American history, tradition and government. Of course, those of us who were born here aren't required to pass such a test - you ask me, to the detriment of our country. I came across an online (and much shortened) version of the citizenship test, that I would recommend you take, either to assure yourself that you are sufficiently informed to bear the heavy responsibility of American citizenship, or if not, to identify the areas in which you need to brush up. I passed with a 57, but I gotta say, it was pretty hard! Do you think something like this should be required for full rights as a citizen, including the right to vote? I have misgivings, but I think there are a lot of pretty under-informed Americans out there, and that can't be good for our country.
Take the test HERE and let us know how you did!
